| Buckfever, I bought the one inch and thirty mm bars from Sinclair. They are about fourteen inchs long with a handle sticking up in the middle. After mounting your rings, you just put a little compound on the bottom half and give them a few strokes. There are different opionions about how much to lapp and some think you should only lapp the bottom half of the ring.If you are a machinist, they should be easy for you.I would be on the lookout for some stainless steel pump shaft. The handle I have looks a lot like the side handle on an electric drill, that screws on and off for storeage.Lapping bars are also good for lining the rings up when first installing them. Cool! Thanks for the help guys!
I may as well order the same lapping bar kit. I can make them at work and hold the +/- .0005" tolerance (held by Sinclair) by simply turing the bar, but their bars are precision ground (and hardened I am assuming). This ensures that the bars should be very, very straight. By turning the bar at work on a lathe, that would not ensure the bar being as straight. Plus, it saves me the work.
I appreciate all of the help a ton guys! Anthony |

I stand corrected (I just found the box they came in). Those rings are Seekins, not BO. |

| Burris signature rings. They come in all styles. Weaver, redfield, quick release, tatical, etc. The plastic inserts automatically allign and eliminate the need for lapping and hold your scope solid without binding the scope tube. They also won't leave ring marks on your scope. I started using them a few years ago and now I won't use anything else. The best place to get them is opticsplanet.com. Free shipping on anything over $30. |

| Most of my hunting rifles have Leupold two-piece mounts and rings. I have some Weaver setups on some old ones. My target rifle has Talley one piece base and Talley rings. |

| I've got Warne quick detach on my 6.5-284. I tested the repeatability of the detach system and shot a 2 inch 5 shot group group at 300 yds. They must return mighty close to center. They also came in handy in Montana. I was a bit nervous putting my scoped rifle in a scabbard on a horse. Horses sometimes get a bit to close to trees and rub the sides. In fact I am the proud owner of a new scratch on my stock thanks to that rotten horse. |
