| We are a week away from deer opener here in MN. My brother called ot ask if I could load up some rounds for his .357 Mag for hunting, he likes to carry it while pushing woods. So off to the store I go, I loaded 180gr Nosler Partitons for mine in the past and they shot well and think they will make a good pill for deer at close range. Gander Mountain has them in stock for $69.99/box of 50rds!!!!! That is insane!! I drove to Wholesale Sports and bought the same for $27. How do they expect to sell anything??? I don't think I will ever step foot in the store again, what are you guys seeing for prices??? |

| IMHO screw Gander Mt. Their gunsmith's (at least in Middletown NY) SUCK!!!! Prices are high, knowledge is lacking. Shotgun and fishing selection is good though. I use them to finger F the products I may want to purchase elsewhere. |

| there's a reason i rarely even walk into a gander mt. for the past 10yrs or so, they have been consistently overpriced on almost everything in the store. |

Deerhuntr, Burn the store down!!!!. LMAO. You should of, have after you bought your ammo, gone back to the store and asked to speak to the manager, and showed him what you bought your ammo for with a receipt, then told him you would not be back . More impact, and it would have made you feel better . That is very sad, but it happening all over because of the ammo scare as I think the stores are using it against us all . Glad you found them for a good price. Stan |

I walked into a G.M. store yesterday. They wanted $50/1000 for CCI large pistol primers. They also wanted $50 for a box of 44 specail 240 grain cowboy action loads and $29 for a 20 count box winchester 200 gr hp personal protection ammo. I think the 44 special winchester brass was $40/ bag. I can see why their shelves are stocked full of powder/primers/brass, and loaded ammo.

| GM sucks! I don't even bother going in them anymore. There must be enough dumbasses that will buy there to keep them going. Poor fools. |

| Isnt that similar to price gouging? Since they think they have it and no one else does the raise the prices. |

Gander Mountain recently bought back stock from small shareholders because of continuing losses. They wanted to change it from a publicly held company, back to a privately held company. WTF? Looks like they're going to privately drive it into the ground. :(

I hear you brother!!!!!!!!! I needed a box of 120gr nosler bt's in 7mm. Went to Gander Mtn and they were $26 bucks. I needed them so I bought them. I then looked at Midway and Midsouth and they were an average of $10 a box cheaper. Went back to gander Mtn for their low price guarantee. Guess what if the store is not in the immediate vicinity they will not honor it. I will no longer buy stuff from them. Drove to the next state over to Cabelas and bought many boxes for $9.29 less per box. It was only a 37 mile drive so it was worth the gas and wear and tear on the car.

I am seeing the same thing here in Pittsburgh but sometimes they honor someone elses price even though it is not local. I have taken Midway prices to them and they honor it.

I posted here about issues with GM at the Toledo store a few months ago. I wrote a formal letter and added comments from the thread (removed all names etc), I still have not heard back from GM. I fully expect them to go bankrupt within a year or so. |

I just read my post and can't believe I forgot the best part. When I asked what they had in .44 special ammo the guy first showed me the box of cowboy loads. Then he says that is all we have in .44 special. I say, "what about the box next to it?" His reply-- "Well that is .44 smith and wesson special ammo, I don't think it would work." That was when I walked out. This was not some 18 year old kid. He looked to be in his late 50's or early 60's. Jack |
