I think I seen it mentioned but can not find it now...I wrote to IMR and have never received any replies....What I am looking for is loading data for the 45-70 with a 500 or higher weight cast bullet..Using the Trail Boss Powder...
I have 500 grain-----525 grain------535 grain all cast bullets...Thank you for any added information you can offer...John

yeah I have all that..Thanks but I need it for the heavy bullets I have..My rifle is a Pedersoli sharps,but I still plan to stay in the trapdoor load range...John

You might need to do a reality check. Sell those bullets and powder and use 300-400 gr. bullets with correct powder.

My daisy BB gun could shoot 600 FPS. You could see it flying out the end of the barrel. That is about the speed you are talking about with your 500+ gr bullets.

Why would I want to get rid of my big bullets?

Them pills will come out of there pretty fast....Your comment was
a little childish I think...But I will except it for who it was from...

What does this say? I read max loaded 485 grain bullet
804 feet per second. Consider the source. Should i load some 525 grains in my 45 pistol also?

I appreciate your peplies but you are not getting the complete information....I know there is data for it....I have one load for a starting load of 10 grains of trail boss for the 500 grain..So I know the data is out there somewhere...Thank you

I am pretty sure that if you go to the web site that they explain how to measure a case with trail boss to get a load.....I will look and see if I can find it

I did it a couple of years ago on a 308 with 200 grn bergers

I have some 535s loaded and I will pull one for you to see. I am pretty sure I loaded it with 13.5 grains.

DS that is pretty easy on any round. it works on everything. I have tried it in every cartridge I own.

I did it with a 170grn cast in my 30-30.....my daughters love shooting that thing

I have refrained from shooting any critters with it due to advice from others on here about the quality of lead that it is....but it sure is a fun and much cheaper plinker

well,I tried the trail boss powder with the 535 grain pill....14 grains is what I used..My gosh the accuracy was far more than what I would have ever expected..I appreciate your help with this...I will contine to exspermint with it using other weight bullets...
