I recently bought a ruger pc4 carbine chambered in .40 s&w, and it has a very , very bad trigger. Its fine for what its made for, a police ride along gun, but thats not quite good enough for me, its got a very long 2 stage with about a 9-10 pound (estimated) trigger pull. I know this gun is built off the legendary 10/22 action, but any luck in it having a 10/22 trigger?I really dont think anyone offers a replacement trigger for this gun since they only made about 16k of these. If the 10/22 trigger will work I know there is some decent ones out there for that. I am a total newbie to any sort of gunsmith work and dont know exactly what a 10/22 trigger looks like from the inside so I cant really compare the two. Im planning on taking a deer with this carbine this year so a good trigger is needed to help my confidence, I am getting baseball size 10 shot groups at 75 yards off a bench, with 155 gr hornady xtp, over 10.3 gr alliant blue dot at 1500-1525 fps, a nice trigger would have to shrink them some. thanks for the help |

HighPoint,
Here's a link to some installation instructions for a 10/22 trigger group that "drops in":
http://www.powercustom.com/kidd/Kid-instructions.htm
I'm not going to tell you it would work in your pc4, because I really don't know. And for $299, is it worth it? You might give Ruger a call, or use their online "Ask Ruger" feature to see if they can give you some info. You will need to phrase your question(s) to them carefully. Gun manufacturers hate it when people call about making changes...I've always gotten..."it's going to void your warranty" crap... There are cheaper options for 10/22 triggers, but this has installation instructions and a diagram. They may help.
If you ask Ruger if the PC4 has the same trigger group as a 10/22, and all the same dimensions, I would think they'd give you an answer. Post what you find out or do. I'd be interested to hear. |

Might try contacting Bill Springfield. His work is highly respected by the HK clone guys and is reasonably priced with good turn around time. http://www.triggerwork.net/index.html |

| I contacted ruger and there's no way according to them the 10/22 trigger will work in a pc4. I am looking into trigger work though. Thanks for the replies. |
